Sarracenia x Maroon

The Sarracenia x Maroon plant is a hybrid ofS. purpurea x rubra. It has an eye-catching deep maroon color on its short, curving pitchers. When the plant matures, the pitchers turn a dark red and retain their dark red colour even in winter. The plant gets red, fragrant, flowers in early Spring. 

Size Adult pitchers can reach up to approximately 35cm tall. Moderate height, 

Light Sun-loving plant. Requires a minimum of 5 hours full sunlight a day in the growing season.

Water  Stand in a saucer containing 3-4 centimeters of water. Let plant drink from the bottom. Keep soil moist but not waterlogged. Use mineral free water such as rain, reverse osmosis or distilled water for optimum plant health.

Dormancy  Plant goes dormant in winter. Reduce water to twice a week and place plant in a cooler spot.
